Wedding interpreting
For civil and church ceremonies, when a spouse or a witness does not speak Italian
Why you need one
If one of you, or one of your witnesses, does not understand Italian, Italian law requires an interpreter at your civil wedding. It is not a formality you can skip: without an interpreter the ceremony cannot go ahead.
A good wedding interpreter does far more than translate words. The official ceremony has a fixed legal wording, and it still needs to feel like your wedding: personal, warm and easy to follow for your guests.
How we can help
We interpret the official wording accurately and on time, and work with the registrar so the ceremony flows naturally.
We interpret for religious weddings too, in coordination with the priest.
We help you include your own vows, readings and ring exchange wording, so the ceremony sounds like you.

More than translation
Interpreting a wedding is not like interpreting an ordinary appointment. The ceremony still needs to feel natural and personal, so we work around your vows, readings and ring exchange without the translation getting in the way.
Our interpreters draw on years of weddings. They suggest poems and readings, help personalise the standard ceremony and liaise with the official celebrant, so you have your moment during the ceremony.
We mainly interpret from and into English. Other languages may be available on request: just ask.
To book, tell us your wedding date, the town hall or church and the language you need. If you also need paperwork or sworn translations for your documents, we handle those too: see certified translations and wedding paperwork. After the wedding we can also take care of your marriage certificate translation.
Not sure whether you need an interpreter or a celebrant? Here is the difference.
